Paul Clüver Winemakers Dinner

The Blue Room is delighted to present a one-night-only collaboration wine dinner with Paul Clüver on Monday, June 22. For the evening, we are honored to welcome Liesl Clüver Rust from Paul Clüver, who will share the rich history of Paul Clüver and the unique character of its terroir, shaped by the abundant natural beauty of Elgin, South Africa.

Until the 1980s, Elgin was known for its apple production. Blessed with cold winters and mild summers, the region offered an ideal environment for fruit cultivation. It was here that neurosurgeon Dr. Paul Clüver, who farmed apples at De Rust farm, planted the first vineyards in Elgin in 1986. Nurtured by the region's cool climate and fertile soils, the grapes developed vibrant acidity and refined balance, leading to the release of Paul Clüver's first wine, a Riesling, in 1990. Today, Paul Clüver is renowned for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, internationally acclaimed for their elegance, precision, and exceptional quality. Paired with a specially curated course menu by The Blue Room, discover a selection of wines that beautifully capture the distinctive terroir of Elgin.
