    Sonoe Hirabayashi
    Born into a family deeply connected to fermentation—her grandfather's family ran a miso and soy sauce wholesaler, and her grandmother was born into a sake brewery—she grew up surrounded by the world of fermentation. After starting her career at a trading company in New York, she was captivated by the allure of wine and decided to pursue winemaking. Following her studies in enology at the University of California, Davis, and experience at wineries in Napa, New Zealand, and Chile, she founded Six Cloves Wines in 2018.
